Striped bass are successful fisheries management because they are definitely hard to find in the ocean and many fishermen can't find much of them yet. Anadromous means a fish, such as salmon migrating up rivers from the sea to spawn. Having striped bass back on our waters is significant because they don't live in salted waters. So they are much easier to obtain.

The stiped bass has had good fortune to become the poster child of successful fisheries. This bass is much more commom than it was decades ago due to managed catch limits and cleaner waterways. Being anadromous means that the striped bass can live in any kind of water, fresh or salt. Like the bass, salmon and herring are also anadromous. By having striped bass back in our waters, the fishing market will increase. It also proves that by having catch limits and cleaner water, fish are more likely to prosper.
